The CP7 Podcast

How did it all begin?

Two British watch enthusiasts in two international cities, Barcelona and London, with a common passion for all things watches decided to start a podcast, but how did it all begin? Like many people during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we took the opportunity to take stock of our lives, and focus on the things we love, for us it was wristwatches. After appearing on YouTube for a couple of watch channels during that period, it became clear that it was time to leave that experience behind and create our own podcast, to build from the ground up. Chronicling our exciting journey into the watch world, learning as we go along, and sharing it with all our listeners. So, in this vast jungle of social media and content, Chrono Passion 7 was born, the number 7 is for luck and the tiger is, of course, the unofficial king of the jungle.

Parm Matiana

Co-Founder|Host|Editor

A London boy through and through, Parm loves watches and the watch scene in the UK’s vibrant capital city. Ever since his father bought him a Star Wars digital watch at the age of 8, he’s always had a timepiece strapped to his wrist. The glossy lifestyle magazines of the 1980s, and big sporting events with luxury brand watch adverts splashed all over them, reinforced his love of watches in the early years, oh and don’t forget Bond, James Bond, and THAT Rolex Submariner. He inadvertently tumbled deep into that rabbit hole we’re all familiar with and hasn’t looked back since. Parm is a watch enthusiast who loves all types of watches, be they digital, quartz, mechanical, or automatic; he has an appreciation and respect for the whole spectrum. Travelling and the arts, are his other biggest passions, but you’ll also find him cheering on his favourite but frustrating football team, Tottenham Hotspur, or absorbed in a cricket match at London’s famous venue, The Oval.

Andrew Batchelor

Co-Founder|Host|Social Media

Based in Barcelona after moving away from the cold north of England, Andy loves style, fashion, and breaking the mold. This is certainly reflected in his watch choices, both past and present. A vintage enthusiast at heart but also a lover of modern designs, he is amazed by the industry's constant innovation in movements, designs, and materials. An industry hundreds of years old, yet still pushing the boundaries every single day. He has been passionate about watches since he was around 9 years old. Andy remembers his father winding his watch every morning before taking him to school, a ritual that has stuck with him all these years—a reminder of the importance of time. Once he started earning a full-time income, most of his money went toward watches. He made some rookie mistakes, like not checking the case size, which led to a few surprises. However, he learned from those mistakes, and it’s all part of the journey that has brought him to where he is today. When not obsessing over watches, you are most likely to find him at his local food haunts, enjoying Spanish cuisine and drinks under the sun.
