Listen to full episode :

Welcome back to your favourite watch-related podcast!

A very special guest today, not only is he the co-host of the huge Scottish Watches podcast, he's also COO of Horage, Head of RedBar London and a GPHG Academy member to boot. Having already had Rikki Damman on The CP7 Podcast in a previous show we now complete the Scottish Watches set and have Dave Sharp making this a show you simply cannot miss.

In this episode, get to hear all about Dave and how he juggles podcasting, being an industry insider and the burden of fame(!). How does he manage all three and still maintain a passion for watches to keep him wanting more?

Find out all about the brand he is involved in, Horage, and the motivation behind their high horology mission, and just why is his favorite watch brand Omega?

We also get a real scoop on the future of the pretty much dormant RedBar London, and the plans he's now got in place to breathe life back into it.

So buckle up and enjoy the ride as we laugh, learn, and most importantly, talk watches.

Wristwatch checks: Dave is wearing the Horage Omnium K2 Pink Perfection in steel (37mm) and the new Nepro Solar by Bamford Watches. Parm follows with his new Omega Speedmaster FOIS, and andy finishes with the Dennison ALD steel Aventurine dial.

Pictured is the first luxury watch Dave bought, the Omega Seamaster Professional GoldenEye Quartz.

Next, we take a look at Horage’s first in-house movement, the K1 automatic, which laid the foundation for their later movements. This is followed by Horage’s first Kickstarter watch, the Jonas K1. Lastly, we see the K2 movement and the tourbillon K-TOU, which arrived a little later and was housed in the Horage Tourbillon 1, shown in the final image.

We then look at Horage’s striking use of meteorite with the Solar Wind 42, along with the second generation of their tourbillon, the Autark Tourbillon, featuring the K-TMR with a micro-rotor.

Moving on, we take in the complexity of the Horage Revolution 3 MicroReg.

The Tudor P01, do we need more of these unconventional designs, or less?

Is the new TAG Heuer x Porsche collaboration a home run or a miss? Are there too many collaborations that don’t connect with collectors, like the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M x Emirates Team New Zealand, a watch Dave initially liked but was put off by due to the collaboration?

That concludes the show notes! Thank you for listening. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below. You'll hear us on the next one!
